Free rod fishing
Rod, spinning rod, ice rod and the like may be used without a fishing permit under §12 of the Swedish Fisheries Act (1993:787) — Vänern is one of Sweden's five great §12 lakes.
Huggtabell.seNo permit needed — but when?
On Vänern you fish with rod and line without a permit — but §12 says nothing about when it tends to be worth the trip. That is what Huggtabell.se works out: weather, air pressure, moon and water temperature are weighed together day by day, and the best sessions of the week are picked out. Today's huggtabell for Vänern is free.
